Free Trade

I believe in free trade.  If goods don’t cross borders, troops will.  Tariffs are really just taxes on foreign products that must be paid by American consumers.  And the tariffs that other countries like China impose on our products hurt U. S. farmers and businesses, since their sales go way down. There is really no danger in having a trade deficit with another country.  I have a trade deficit with Target. I buy a lot of goods from them, but they don’t buy anything from me.  And that’s OK, since we each get what we want. I want their products, and they want my money. It’s the same with countries.  Our consumers, our farmers, and our businesses all benefit from the free crossing of goods across borders.
